We decided to brave the cold and go for a walk on the grounds of Blenheim Palace. It was so beautiful and serene - a true winter wonderland. Jasmine lost the will to carry on after an hour or so, so we set off back to the car. And it was a good thing we started to leave when we did as the snow started to fall in flakes as big as the palm of your hand! It was amazing to look up directly into the sky, and we all (except for Jasmine - who by now was bordering on inconsolable) tried to catch as many snowflakes as we could on our tongues :-)
We tried to calm Jasmine down with the promise of a mug of hot chocolate in the Black Prince Pub, but she wasn't to be consoled. In a vain attempt to show her just how cosy it was by the fire, I tried hanging our things to dry in the inglenook fireplace and banged my head on the wall above - it was so painful I wanted to join in and have a good cry too. In the end, we decided to just go home as this quiet cosy pub was being disturbed by Jasmine's wails - so I didn't even get a rum for warmth or the head :-(
Highlights of the day:
1. Nick trying to prove he still 'has it' by attempting to climb a tree
2. The views
3. And best of all.....having fun with my beautiful family

I wish I could be in the UK for the very unusual winter. I have always wished a (or some) proper snowfall(s) for the winter. Look like very good fun there, and very nice snow scene by the way!
