in the rain. Because it wouldn't be a proper British summer without the rain. SO I guess it was a fitting farewell tribute to us, as we enjoyed our last few days on UK soil.
Olympic torch tour
Oblivion
Jas being Jas!
can you spot 3 of us?
The kids had a blast, despite getting absolutely soaked. Ben is a right little adrenaline junkie, rushing from one fast ride to another - his head and shoulders almost hit the floor, he was
that disappointed over not being tall enough to go on
Oblivion ,
Nemesis or
Rita. Personally, I really wanted to go on Oblivion - the sound of the screaming just before the train whooshed down into a black hole, barely wider than the carts themselves, and then under the ground and up hundred meters or so away - was soooo....
thrilling. But as there was only us two adults
and I was too chicken to go on alone, I had to miss out.
Nerves got a little frayed after a long, wet day, whe we walked all the way back (30 mins) to where we thought we'd parked the car only to errr, not find it. When we eventually did locate it in another car park, the relief was palpable - and Jasmine was able to pour the water out of her shoes and warm her toes finally!
Overall our inbred British resolve won out and despite the grey, we had a really fun day :-)

Ohhhh, we finally found someone who's going to take our kids for those daring/ dangerous rides! I could never, ever do it. No way.
I LOVE rollercoasters and fast rides, but Oblivion got the best of me....I knew that the anticipation during the wait to get on would do me in! There's a great theme park here in Ontario called WOnderland. If you ever visit, I'll most definitely take your kids on some of the faster rides - or Ben will!
Great! They still have to grow a bit but I'm so, SO certain that Ida is going to LOVE rollercoasters. I'm not so sure about Martha but you'll never know... :)
