Countdown to Witney: 2 days to go.....!

We got the keys to the new house on wednesday, so me, the kids, Aunty Gail, cousin Aaron, Uncle Clint and Pippi set off for Witney to see the house for ourselves (finally!) Unfortunately the day didn't start off as planned. I had wanted to be arriving in Witney around 11am, but as it happens we didn't even set off from Leicester until after 10pm. As Clint is fond of taking off around the country, we decided that it would be best if he led the procession of cars as he confidently described a route in the direction of Luton (?) which was meant to be much easier. Well, almost 4 long, hot, stuffy hours later we arrived rather the worse for wear at the new house. Ironically Maria (aka Pippi) whose car I and the children were in, turned off towards Oxfordshire thinking Clnt had also turned off. He hadn't. We called his mobile and received a torrent of emotion about how we were supposed to be following.....needless to say, we turned around and met up with them again. We shouldn't have bothered as we would have been in Witney around 2 hours earlier if we had!
Anyway, when we arrived Ben and Jas were so excited they ran around the house, looked in all the cupboards, played in the garden and went to the park. They most definately didn't want to leave at the end of the day.
I am really pleased with the house as it has a much bigger garden than at our previous house, is very neutrally decorated, and has a lot of amenities close by, namely a park and playing fields and a supermarket, nursery, takeaways and a school.
It is also very quiet and there appeared to be a lot of young families and children around. I think we're going to fit in very nicely indeed.

As I check on your blog I realise it's Jasy's third birthday today! As big as she is beautiful then?! We hope she continues this trend only for as long as it's good for her ;-)
Happy birthday and congratulations from Alex and Tara
