this lock is actually a chunk from the front of her hair and a chunk from the end of her ponytail. I found it behind the toybox when I was clening the playroom a couple of weeks ago. I do believe that sometimes my daughter is just so overcome by the urge to do something she knows deep down she shouldn't do (she's been caught out weilding scissors before and warned not to cut her hair) that she actually, honestly can't help herself. Like when she drew all over the dining room wall in our last house. The entire wall between the two legs of the table was covered in her scribblings. This obviously wasn't enough though because she then climbed onto the chair and continued her masterpiece up the wall. You could also follow the trail of her work along the walls going up the stairs and into her bedroom. When we first moved into this current house, she took a biro and drew along the handrail of the bannister from the ground floor to the first floor, along the rail on the first floor, and a few feet up the rail going up to the second floor. She must have lost the urge then as the trail suddenly stops there. The thing is, she's always so apologetic, looking up at you fron under those long eyelashes with big, brown, liquid eyes.....I'm sure she's actually thinking what suckers we are as it never fails to soften our (read 'my') reaction.
modelling her new fringe!
