I was taking the kids to the toilet at the supermarket today and we went into the disabled loos. Ben wanted to know what the red pull cord was for and I explained that because these toilets are for people who are disabled, if they needed help they could pull the cord an alarm goes off and someone would come to help them. Both he and Jasmine asked a few more questions - have I heard the alarm? (Ben) Why does this pull down (an arm rest thingy - Jasmine)? Do all old people get disabled (Ben)? Jasmine had the best answer to that one. 'No', she said looking up at me, 'cause you're not disabled are you mummy!?'
No, not disabled, but obviously old.
